Why this test?
This test detects the presence of an active dengue virus infection by identifying the NS1 antigen, a protein that circulates in the blood during the early stages of the disease. It is indicated for patients living in or who have traveled to endemic areas for the transmitting vector, and for those presenting symptoms such as severe headache, fever, retro-orbital pain, muscle pain, or extreme fatigue. Early detection helps achieve a faster diagnosis and guides appropriate treatment and clinical follow-up.
